Spring Core Soccer 2009
Registration for the Spring Season 09
Registration opens in 6 days
Welcome to Somers AYSO Region 95 Player Registration. If you have previously registered your child in a prior season, you will only have to update changing information about your child and your family. Once your child is registered for the current season, we will be able to email you all of the latest information and happenings within our program.
Now is the time to register for the 2009 Spring Soccer Season. Your child must be 4 1/2 years of age by August 1, 2008 in order to register for the Micro Division. ANY PARENTS WHO PURPOSELY PUT AN INCORRECT BIRTHDATE INTO THE SYSTEM TO ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN TO PLAY UP IN A STRONGER DIVISION WILL HAVE THEIR CHILDREN TAKEN OUT OF THE PROGRAM. OUR INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER PLAYERS WHO HAVE INCORRECT REGISTRATION FORMS. We will accept registrations for all other ages, through high school, where AYSO offers the Complete Athlete Program, for students planning on going to college. You are now registering for the Core Program. All of the other AYSO programs such as The Academy, Summer Camp, Red Bulls NY Soccer Match, VIP and Complete Athlete Program will have a separate sign-up through our website at www.somerssoccer.org or email Ed Heller at ayso95@optonline.net
The AYSO Region 95 program is run entirely by volunteers. Every coach and referee must be certified with Safe Haven and trained in an age appropriate course. As part of your childs registration, you will be asked to volunteer in some capacity in order to keep our program running at the high level that it does. You only need to be enthusiastic. No soccer knowledge is necessary.
After you complete the registration we ask that you download and read the Somers Soccer Handbook from our website. It has everything you need to know about AYSO.
This is an OPEN REGISTRATION available to players of all levels. All players will be guaranteed to play the same amount of time as their friends - EVERYONE PLAYS! Teams in each division should have a competitive game each week - BALANCED TEAMS! Parents, players, coaches and referees representing AYSO all bring their best attitudes to the field before, during and after practices and games - POSITIVE COACHING & GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP! These are our guiding prinicipals.
BECAUSE THE PLAYER REQUEST SYSTEM HAS BEEN ABUSED BY PARENTS, WE CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT REQUESTS BY ANY PARENTS OR PLAYERS TO PLAY ON CERTAIN TEAMS. Grade commissioners, who make up your teams, are not required to honor requests. Their only priority is to balance the teams.
YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ASSIGNED TO A TEAM UNTIL PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED. WE ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS ONLY.
AYSO Extra Travel Soccer Registration
Our Extra Travel Program follows the same registration process, guidlines, and philosophies as our Core Program. In order to register for Travel, you child needed to have attended one of the tryout sessions in late May, and complete registration for the Fall 2008 Core Program.
Your child will NOT be eligible to play Travel until verification of Core registration is complete, and your fee has been paid, NO EXCEPTIONS.
A $25 late fee will be assessed to ALL registrations received after June 15th. Registration will officially close on June 22nd.
For additional information about our Travel Program, you can go to sommerssoccer.org, or contact Jim Caponera at jcaponera@optonline.net.
