WELCOME TO ALL SAINTS REGISTRATION FOR SOCCER GRADES PK/K THROUGH HIGH-SCHOOL , VOLLEYBALL GRADES 5 THROUGH HIGH-SCHOOL AND(INSTRUCTIONAL VOLLEYBALL FOR GRADES 3 AND 4) 2012
REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE MAY 31, 2012 SO DO NOT DELAY IN SIGNING UP AS A LATE FEE WILL APPLY AFTER MAY 31, 2012. IF YOU SIGN UP AFTER MAY 31, 2012, YOU MAY NOT BE GUARANTEED A ROSTER SPOT AND YOU WILL BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST
WORKING CONCESSION SHIFTS
APPLIES TO SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL, and INSTRUCTIONAL VOLLEYBALL
IN ORDER TO KEEP EVERYONE'S REGISTRATION COSTS DOWN, WE ASK PARENTS TO WORK THERE ASSIGNED CONCESSION SHIFTS DURING THE SPORT SEASON YOUR CHILD IS PLAYING. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO WORK YOUR ASSIGNED SHIFTS, YOU MAY SWITCH WITH ANOTHER PARENT . IF YOU DO NOT WORK YOUR ASSIGNED SHIFTS, YOU WILL BE ASSESSED A $100 FEE. IF THE FEE IS NOT PAID, YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY SPORTS AT ALL-SAINTS UNTIL THE FEE IS PAID.
IN THE PAST, SOMETIMES WE HAD MORE SOCCER PARENTS THAN SHIFTS NEEDED THUS SOME SOCCER PARENTS WERE NOT NEEDED OR DID NOT NEED TO WORK AS LONG OF SHIFTS AS OTHERS. THIS YEAR, IF NEEDED, SOCCER PARENTS MAY BE ASKED TO WORK CONCESSONS IN VOLLEYBALL( INSIDE WHERE IT IS WARM AND COZY). THIS WILL ALLOW US TO HAVE MORE BALANCED SHIFTS( ALTHOUGH NOTHING IS PERFECT!)
SOCCER UNIFORMS
We have added some questions this year regarding soccer uniforms for third graders. Third graders will need a new jersey, shorts and socks this fall. The third graders can buy what you need now and pay when you check out in the system. If you are unsure of sizes or have any uniform questions for all grades, our uniform coordinator is Janet Behlmann and you can contact her at: jbehlmann@charter.net
A FEW QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT SOCCER:
WHEN DOES THE SEASON START? IT WILL START THE FIRST WEEKEND AFTER LABOR DAY AND WE PLAY TEN GAMES. SOME TEAMS MAY FINISH BEFORE 10 WEEKS BECAUSE WEATHER PERMITTING, WE TRY TO GET THE YOUNGER KIDS DONE SOONER SO YOU MAY HAVE MORE THAN ONE GAME IN A WEEKEND
WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM MY COACH? YOU SHOULD HEAR FROM YOUR COACH TOWARDS THE END OF JULY EARLY AUGUST. PLEASE BE PATIENT.
WHEN WILL I GET MY CONCESSION SCHEDULE? ALL SAINTS HAS A SOCCER TOURNAMENT EVERY YEAR TOWARDS THE LAST 10 DAYS IN AUGUST AND SOME PARENTS WILL BE SCHEDULED TO WORK THE TOURNAMENT. YOU WILL RECEIVE INFORMATION ON WORKING THE TOURNAMENT ABOUT A WEEK PRIOR. ONCE THE COUNTY FINISHES THE SOCCER SCHEDULE, ABOUT 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE FIRST GAME, THE REST OF THE CONCESSION SCHEDULE WILL BE COMPLETED AND SENT OUT TO YOUR COACH AND ALSO EMAILED OUT THROUGH THIS SITE. CHANGES CAN OCCUR TO IT DURING THE SEASON DUE TO THE WEATHER SO BE WATCHING YOUR EMAILS!
WILL MY CHILD PLAY IN ANY PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENTS? ALL-SAINTS HOSTS A TOURNAMENT FOR GRADES PRE-K/K, 1,5,6,7 AND 8. ST PETERS HOSTS ONE FOR GRADES 3 AND 4 AND ST CLETUS HOSTS ONE FOR SECOND GRADE. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR COACH FOR MORE DETAILS THIS SUMMER.
IF YOU HAVE A CHILD WHO WANTS TO BE A SOCCER REFEREE
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST GOING INTO HIGHSCHOOL THIS FALL. MORE INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE CHURCH BULLETIN AND THROUGH EMAILS THIS SUMMER
VOLLEYBALL INFORMATION
VOLLEYBALL UNIFORMS

A uniform exchange will occur this year. If you have a larger uniform and you need one for a younger sibling, turn in the large size and recieve a discount for the smaller size.
Payment for volleyball uniforms will be required at the time the order is taken.
REFEREE and SCOREKEEPER INFORMATION:

If you are interested in refereeing for the volleyball season, the following is required:
1) Minimum age: Freshman in High School
2) Past experience with refereeing: This experience could include refereeing for CYA or CYC volleyball, or experience refereeing as a Club Volleyball Player.
3) Up Referees must be at least a Junior in high school and/or have 2 years experience as an Up Ref in Club Volleyball.
4) Down Referees must be at least a Freshman in high school and have a minimum of 1 year experience as a Down Ref in Club Volleyball
If you are interested in scorekeepering, the following is required:
1) Minimum age: 7th Grade
2) No past experience necessary, however, an understanding of volleyball is required.
All referees must attend a Referee Clinic before the volleyball season begins. This clinic will be sponsored by the CYA. Any referees who do not attend the referee clinic will not be certified as CYA referees for the upcoming season, and will be removed from the referee list.
VOLLEYBALL FAQs
1. WHEN DOES THE SEASON BEGIN?
The first weekend after Labor Day. It runs for a total of 10 weeks.
2. When are games played?
Games for 5-8th grades are typically played on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoon. There may be an occasional Friday night game.
3. Are there Volleyball Tournaments?
Throughout the season, several parishes offer volleyball tournaments for 5-8th grades, including All Saints. Fourth grade players will have an opportunity to participate in a league and/or tournament at the end of the season, however, this will be decided by the coach.
4. Do we have to work concession?
To help keep the cost of participating in All Saints sports down, we require all parents to work there assigned concession shifts. A parent will have to work at least one shift in the concession stand for several hours during the regular season AND at least one during the volleyball tournament. There will be an opportunity to sign-up for a weekend and time. This will be announced later.
