Boys Spring 2012 - High School

Please note that these teams are for players who reside inside of the Canby School District ONLY.

This session is for boys in grades 9 through 12. These teams are competitive and travel around the Portland/Salem area to play games. In addition to the registration fee of $150, players must pay the HS Club Sport fee of $60 at CHS. Players also need to have current membership ($35) in US Lacrosse that extends through the end of the season. Players are responsible for providing their own equipment.

Boys Spring 2012 - Grades 3-8

Please note that these teams are for players who reside inside of the Canby School District ONLY. (Players who reside outside of the district will be considered only if additional players are needed to complete a team.)

This session is for boys in grades 3 through 8. These teams are competitive and travel around the Portland/Salem area to play games. The registration fee is $150. Players also need to register for US Lacrosse membership ($25) which can be done during registration. Players/Families are also responsible for obtaining lacrosse gear. CYL has a limited supply of gear for checkout.

Girls Spring 2012 - Grades 5-8 Traveling

We will be collecting $150 in registration fees after we know enough players are signed up to make up a team. There will be a $25 additional charge for US Lacrosse Fees.

Again, these fees will ONLY become due when we know there will be a team.

Please Review the Items Below BEFORE Registering

High School Players: Practice will begin around February 22 (or within a day or two of that). Season ends around May 16. Season will extend potentially into June for Varsity players if we make the playoffs. Plan on making them!

Grades 3-8 Traveling Team Players: Practice will begin around the week of March 9. Season ends around June 15.

Girls Players: As soon as we have enough players registered as interested, we will then begin $150 for registration and $25 for US Lacrosse membership.

Your coaches will be in touch shortly before practices begin.

Don't forget about the following addtional costs.

Equipment: Players at all levels are responsible for their own equipment. The required equipment for boys includes the following items:

Helmet

Shoulder Pads

Elbow Pads

Gloves

Stick

Mouthpiece

Athletic Cup

Cleats

Practice Shorts

Starter gearsets can be acquired via any number of means including local stores (Dick's, Bigfoot Lacrosse, Big5 Sports, etc), or via online resellers (eBay, etc), or from older players.

In addition, Canby Youth Lacrosse has set up a deal with LaxWorld for starter gearsets. In total, the base gear would normally be about $400 or more. Our deal with Laxworld provides the first 6 items listed above for around $225 (depending on size). Consult www.canbylacrosse.com website for more information.

Loaner Gear from Canby Youth Lacrosse is for FIRST YEAR players only. The intent of the gear is to minimize the "risk" in getting started. Once a player has decided that they want to continue with the game, they need to acquire their own gear. That said, we do have a limited supply of some excess gear that we can loan for the season. Girls Gear consists only of goggles and stick. Gloves are optional. Visit local sporting goods retailers for this gear.

Uniforms: Players who have jerseys from previous years will be expected to use them. New players will use loaner jerseys from CYL. These loaner jerseys are NOT for sale and we expect them to be returned in good condition at the end of the season.
