GENERAL INFORMATION
Season Runs-November 2010 to February 2011
The following information should answer most questions prior to the season start.
Since the city owns the fields, and because of the unpredictable Florida weather, the league may have to revise start dates, change field venue, cancel practices or games with no notice. If time permits, we try to reschedule all cancelled games. The league uses three methods, i.e. Web-site, Emails, and Information Line, to get information to its membership. Last minute schedule changes may only be updated on the league website and information line.
Can I request a specific player or coach? CreekSoccer uses a random process for player assignment to a team and players are not guaranteed assignment to a specific coach or to be paired up with a specific player. The only exceptions will be for sibling players and coach children.
When do players get notified? Coach will contact you by phone with the player team assignment. Coaches have until November 10th to contact the player of his/her practice date and time. Please only contact the league if you haven’t been notified by November 15th.
What to do if a coach doesn't contact me by my practice date? Either contact the League at 877-636-8296 or send an email to nocoachcalled@creeksoccer.com Please make your message brief and include the following information: Player Name, Date of Birth, and Phone number to contact you.
When are uniforms issued? Your uniform is included in the price of registration and will be issued the week before your first game. Your coach will be responsible for issuing uniforms.
What equipment do I purchase? You'll need to purchase Shin Guards and Soccer Shoes. Additional Items are optional: Soccerball, Water Bottle, and any Safety Gear (i.e. Mouth Guard, Head Gear).
Does the city operate the league? No, the city doesn't operate the league. Coconut Creek Soccer is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that relies solely on membership and sponsors to fund the program. The city provides fields; CCSI provides the volunteer staffing to operate the program during the season.
Can I volunteer? Yes, you get what you put into the program! The league depends upon 100% volunteers to staff the many position required for the league to operate efficiently.
How many games do we play? Lil Stinger and Junior Hornets divisions play 10 games with no playoffs. Gentlemen and Lady Hornet divisions play 10 games with playoffs. Games cancelled will be rescheduled when possible if time permits in the season.
Playing time? CreekSoccer has a mandatory substitution policy for select divisions. The policy assist’s coaches in fulfilling requirement for every player to play at least half a game.
Practice day/time? Practice session duration is typically 60 minutes for U10 and younger divisions and 60-90 minutes for u12 and older divisions. The league sets each division practice day and time slot range. Your volunteer coach then picks his/her time slot to practice. Time slots are available on a first come-first serve bases and the league can’t guarantee which time slot you will be assigned. Please use the Division Time Chart to help determine your division days and time range for practices and games.
Guarantee placement?
Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The number of team’s in each division depends on the amount of players registering and parents who volunteer for coaching. Divisions can either be four to ten teams consisting of ten players per team. Once divisions are full, a waiting list for those who did not make the initial cut-off will be established. In the event additional volunteers agree to coach and have met all league requirements for coaching, the Board of Directors will then be able to consider forming additional teams..
US CLUB SOCCER AGE CHART 2009-2010 Season
How to choose the age group for registering from the age chart? Soccer players are usually placed in age groups based on their birth date. For our soccer league, the way to determine a player's "soccer age" is to ask "How old was the child on last July 31?" For example, if a child was nine as of 7/31/10, he or she will stay in the "Under-10" (U10) group until 7/31/11, when they move up to U11 (or U12 because we combine U11 and U12 into one age group). You should keep in mind that a child with a July birthday is almost a year younger than a child with an August birthday (even though they may be the same "soccer age") and that the younger children often have shorter attention spans and often won't learn as quickly as the older children.
Uniform Sizing Chart
The following Division Time Chart is to be used as a guide only for the 2010-11 season and is not final until registration is complete. The league may have to revise start dates, change field venue, change practice day, or change game day based on any of the following reasons: number of players who register to play, number of teams in a division, and field availability from the city. If you are not sure whether you can be flexible with your registration, we recommend you do not register for the program.
