For all of you high school rowers who want to get a full body workout (arms,core,and legs) this summer so that you're in tip-top condition for fall, join Niskayuna Rowing's Summer Training offered to you through Continuing Education and Friends of Niskayuna Rowing.
Strengthen your core, muscles, improve conditioning, and power.
This is the best way to stay focused on your physical well-being so that you're prepared for the fall rowing season.
There will be one 10-week session this summer running from 06/4/12 through0 8/04/12. When:

This program will be under the direction of Niskayuna Rowing Coach Bender.

Summer 2012 HS Team - Competitive Program
The HS summer sculling and sweeping program is open to high school rowers*, including graduating seniors, who have participated in at least one season of high school rowing.
The HS Competitive program is 7 weeks long and directed towards creating crews to compete at the Canadian Henley Regatta the first week of August. There may be smaller races in which the HS Competitive crews will participate throughout the season.
This program will be under the direction of Coaches Buckner and Bender.
Cost: $300
Dates: June 25th – August 12th
Time: 6am – 8am
*All rowers must pass (or have passed within the last 5 years) a swim test consisting of a 400 yard swim (clothed for the first 50 yards), followed by a 10 minute tread, followed by the donning of a life jacket while still treading water.
Swim tests dates to be determined.
Summer 2012 HS Team - Skills Clinic
The HS summer sculling program is open to 8th graders and high school rowers*, including graduating seniors, who have participated in at least one season of high school rowing.
The HS Skills Clinic is 6 weeks long and intended for rowers who want to develop their rowing skills in small boats and/or want to participate in a non-competitive, recreational program. Any high school rower can choose to participate in the Skills Clinic.
This program will be under the direction of Coaches Buckner and Bender.
Dates: June 25th – August 3rd
Time: 6am – 8am
Cost: $250

Summer 2012 Junior C Team
The Junior C summer team is open to any 7th or 8th grader* (as well as 8th grade graduates who will be in 9th grade in the Fall) who has completed at least one season of modified rowing (fall or spring) or has participated in the summer "Learn To Row" program.
When: June 25 - August 4, 2012
M - F 8:30am - 11am
Cost: $270

Summer 2012 Youth Learn to Row 1A
Learn sculling on the Mohawk River this summer! This 2 week progressive program is designed for beginning rowers* entering grades 6-12.
Session 1A: 7/9/12 - 7/20/12
M - F 8:30am - 11am
Cost: $150
*All rowers must pass (or have passed within the last 5 years) a swim test consisting of a 400 yard swim (clothed for the first 50 yards), followed by a 10 minute tread, followed by the donning of a life jacket while still treading water.

Summer 2012 Adult Learn to Row Program
Niskayuna Rowing's Adult Learn To Row program is for adults* interested in sculling and sweeping on the Mohawk River.
Session 1: 7/9/12 - 7/13/12
Session 2: 7/23/12 - 8/03/12
M - TH 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Cost: $150

Summer 2012 Adult Member Program
Niskayuna Rowing's Member Program is for adult rowers who have already completed a rowing class or have had other rowing experience. You must pass or have passed an FNR-administered swim test*; rowing times are restricted to the presence of a Niskayuna coach on the river; and equipment availability is dependent on teams' usage.
When: June 1 - November 1, 2012
Cost: $50
*All rowers must pass (or have passed) a swim test consisting of a 400-yard swim (clothed for the first 50 yards), followed by a 10 minute tread, followed by the donning of a life jacket while still treading water.
