Guilderland United will offer the Winter GURP (recreation) program once again this year. This year’s program will be held in the gymnasium at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland, located on route 155 off of Western Ave.

The $50.00 fee will cover the training and facility expenses. This must be paid by check payable to GUSC and mailed to Brian Rubin - 215 Concord Hill Drive - Altamont - NY - 12009 or brought to the first session.

Program Dates are: January: 22, 29. February: 5, 12 and March: 4, 11, and 18.

Times: Ages (4-5) 1:00 – 2:00 pm and Ages (6-7) 2:00 – 3:00 pm

This program is limited to the first 24 children in each time slot.

Boys and Girls Ages 8-18 • November 2011 to June 2012

The club’s Select Teams are part of Guilderland United’s competitive program which is directed towards the more dedicated player. These players want a higher level of competition and training. In order to play on a select team, a player must be selected during the clubs tryouts. If chosen to play on one of these teams, it is expected that you will dedicate to the requirements of your team. It is not enough to just to make one of these teams. The player and the parent must be willing to accept the added responsibility that comes with this selection. These teams practice more often, attend local and overnight tournaments (U11 and up), and require a high level of commitment. The Select program offers teams from U10 through U17.

There will be no increase in fees from last year's dues! The club has done its best to hold our fees in check for the next season. We understand that this an investment for our families and we have done our best to budget well in order to keep our fees locked in at last year's level.

As always, team uniforms, tournament costs, and additional league fees beyond what is listed below are not included in the yearly fees. Other extra activities may also be added in to our program throughout the year without cost to our families.

"GURP" is our club’s recreational program. This program is different from other "rec" programs due to the emphasis on proper instruction. We believe there are two fundamental principles that must be stressed. First, create a fun and safe environment. Second, make sure the individual skills are taught correctly and they are appropriate for the child's age. Our nationally licensed coaches follow the guidelines put forth by the United States Soccer Federation in regards to the appropriate field size and the number of players that should be on the field at one time. Beginning in the fall of 2010 the Guilderland United Recreation Program began offering this program to all Guilderland children FREE of Charge! Our program is the appropriate first step for those children that want to learn the skills necessary for them to play on competitive teams when they get older.

Once again, GUSC will be offering their FREE Recreational Soccer Program to the Guilderland community this spring season!

The game dates for the fall are on Saturdays: May 5, 12, 19. June 2, 9, 16.

Practices are Mondays from 6:00 – 7:00 pm for grades K – 4 and Tuesdays for grades 5 - 6. These practices begin April 30th.
