Welcome to the 2011-2012 Klein Lacrosse season. The purpose of the KLC is to provide instruction, leadership, financial support, individual leadership opportunities and most importantly fun for our players. To help get us there, this year’s KLC Board consists of a group of volunteers who are dedicated to the purpose of seeing that you and your child have a positive experience with Houston’s fastest growing sport - Lacrosse!
Registration for Boys Little Sticks through Boys 8th Grade has closed as of 1/12/2012
Please contact Jillian Barkley at colrytrav@yahoo.com for information on waiting lists
We are a non-profit/charitable organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service under the tax exempt section 501 (c) (3). Our Tax ID is available by request.
We recruit and draw players from the whole Klein Independent School District, including those living beyond district lines where Lacrosse programs are not currently available (e.g. Spring and Tomball I.S.D.).
A complete packet of registration and medical forms are included on this site. Be sure to fill out ALL on-line forms completely. You must complete your registration before your player begins practices. Your registration information will be saved for future sessions and/or seasons.
Lacrosse is a Spring sport. The main season will run from January through April/May. Nevertheless, we offer early practices and preparations during the Fall. We start with less frequent practices in the Fall and move towards more frequent practices during Winter and Spring months. Many of our teams compete in pre-season tournaments. Participation in Fall/pre-season tournements may be handled on a "first come, first served" basis. You are therefore encouraged to promptly register and fully pay fees.
All regular season games are played in the Greater Houston area. We recognize many kids participate in fall sports and may have conflicts with some pre-season practices or tournaments. Please, don't let that dissuade you from considering lacrosse as your child's Spring sport of choice. Provided we have roster spots available, you can still join up anytime until February 1st 2012.
Our High School teams generally compete in at least one travel tournament each year. Recent tournaments have been in Dallas, New Orleans, Austin and College Station. Our High School Varsity teams are eligible to qualify for the Texas State Championship. Our Varsity boys won the State Championship in 2006 and our Varsity Girls made it to the State Finals in 2007. Varsity players are also eligible to qualify for letterman awards/certificates at the end of the season.
To start the season off, there will be an open registration event in October. There will be Parent/Player meetings scheduled in October and January. The dates will be announced via email and our website. During these meetings you will meet the coaches and be informed of what is expected from you and your child for the upcoming season. These are great opportunities to ask questions and meet others that have played before or are just beginning.
Our website (www.kleinlacrosse.org) is where you will be able to receive up-to-date information on practice and game schedules, directions to other fields, and other team related information. The website and emails are your main source of communication and information with KLC.
We look forward to your participation at the Parent/Player meeting and to another exciting and hardworking year of lacrosse-the fastest sport on two feet!
Please follow the online instructions carefully so we can make the registration process as smooth and painless as possible. To ensure a spot on a team, timely receipt of uniforms (especially High School boys) and participation in pre-season tournaments, we strongly encourage registrations to be completed by November 1, 2010. We offer an early registration discount of $15.00 if registered before November. We also offer discounts to families with multiple players ($50 for 2 players, $75 for 3 players and $100 for 4 players). Klein Lacrosse will register players with US Lacrosse. We offer a competitively priced program compared to other programs in and around the City of Houston. ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES MUST BE MEMBERS OF US LACROSSE. If you have any questions with the registration process, please send an email (scott@marderfinancial.com).
Kind Regards,
