Getting Help from Sarasota Scullers
|

Sarasota Scullers is the oldest organized youth rowing club in Sarasota. Since 1991, the Sarasota Scullers have led the way in competitive team rowing and developing teens’ athletic and competitive skills, including achieving a #1 ranking in Florida at the 2010 State Championships and National Championship in 2011. But even more important is the sense of personal achievement the coaching staff fosters by helping members learn valuable life skills of teamwork and individual goal setting.
The Sarasota Scullers Rowing Team provides teens, ages 14 to 17, who reside in Manatee or Sarasota Counties, with the opportunity to learn a new sport, meet new friends and spend time outdoors having fun, staying fit and becoming part of one of the fastest growing team sport in Florida. A youth program for children ages 11-13 is also available during the school year.
By working with teens to increase fitness as well as build their self-esteem and confidence, Scullers team members have gone on to achieve even greater levels of success in their academic, personal and professional lives, including their ability to obtain college scholarships and improve their chances for acceptance at their college of choice.
Rowing is a sport for everyone, even those who have not excelled in other sports. Its low impact and high cardio fitness ratios enable teens to train hard with minimal risk of injury. It also provides them with a positive, life-enriching outlet that they can carry forward with them for years to come.
Please note: in order to provide an optimal environment for training and instruction, enrollment is limited to 30 campers per session. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
See you on the water!
