2010 Tornado Soccer Camps at King College
The 2009 Tornado Soccer Camps at King College will be directed by Matt Lavinder (King College Men), Michael Swan (King College Women), and Declan Jogi (Founder of Destiny Foundation). Two weeks (June 15-19 and July 13-17) will be offered at King College with a Top Player Only Academy section offered in each of the two weeks. The regular King College Academy is open to all players of any level. The Top Player Only sessions are designed to challenge players who are among the top third of their age group and want a more challenging environment.
Our Philosophy
The Tornado Soccer Camps will utilize the same philosophy and fun approach used by Matt Lavinder for the past 10 years of King College soccer camps. The approach is based upon the individual player within the one on one (1v1) game. The approach, at all levels, is based upon the individual player within the one on one (1v1) game with the top players also being given the opportunity to expand their development into some small group technical and tactical elements. The sole focus is on developing the fundamentals of the game in a fun, dynamic environment. We’ve found the single most important element of coaching children is developing their self-confidence, helping them to believe they can perform the fundamentals of the game. The key is an extremely low staff:camper ratio that maximizes individual attention. This philosophy has been hugely successful as it keeps young players motivated and engaged through the most innovative coaching methods in the United States. New this year, we will add more advanced work and small group play into the curriculum for top players, especially with the rising 4th-6th graders. We hope you can attend because we’ll have a great time and learn a lot!
