Welcome to the Tri-City Nets
2009/2010 Season Tryouts
We would like to thank you for considering the Tri-City Nets as your AAU travel basketball family. Here are some reminders about this years tryouts.
- We encourage everyone to Pre-Register
to attend this years tryouts but it is not necessary. Please feel free
to attend even if you do not complete this pre-registration process.
- Pre-Registration does not imply commitment to attend or play for the Tri-City Nets.
- This will allow us to determine the # of participants and ensure proper space is allocated and speed up the check-in process. (You are still required to fill out the AAU Membership application and bring to the tryouts.)

FAQ:
1. What age division should my daughter try out for?
A: Check out the official AAU Age Determination Chart
to see which age group is right for your daughter. You may find that
your daughter qualifies for 2 different age groups based on her birth
date and her current grade. If this occurs you can express your desire
at tryout check in.
2. Season timeframe?
A: Practices can start as early as Nov 9th
(usually starts a week or 2 after tryouts) with the tournament season
going until Mid to late March.
3. Practice Frequency?
A: During the pre-season the practices are 2-3
times a week, once the tournament season begins (early January) the
practices go down to 1-2 times a week.
4. Tournament Frequency
A: The teams sign up for approximately 6
tournaments with each having 3-4 games. Most of these tournaments are
1 day tournaments but some are 2 day tournaments and can play 4-6 games
over a 2 day period. Tournaments start in early January and go into
late March
5. How far do we travel for tournaments?
A: Each coach will set the tournament schedule
and thus the travel requirements. Tournaments are typically within a
75 mile radius but most are in locations such as Midland, Mt. Pleasant,
Swartz Creek, Burton & Clio. There are tournament Lansing, Ann
Arbor and Lake Orion that have been attended by Nets teams in past
years.
6. Are there any overnight tournaments?
A: Each year the Nets club tries to organize a
club wide tournament at a location that may require an overnight stay.
In past years this location has been Lansing but we have considered the
campus of the University of Michigan. This is a very popular event for
both the players and their parents.
7. How are the costs of playing for the Nets used?
A: The costs are set each year and communicated
at the club wide parent meeting. The items which require a cost to the
family are broken down into two groups:
1. Club Dues (can be covered by obtaining a sponsor)
a. Club dues are collected before the
tournament season begins and covers the costs of all practice court
rentals and all tournament fees.
b. Sponsor information will be covered in
the club meeting at the beginning of the season. If you know of a
business that is willing to sponsor your daughter and the Nets, we will
have information and sponsorship forms available to provide after the
club meeting.
2. Uniforms / extra clothing
a. Uniforms consist of 2 game jerseys
(Red & White) and game shorts (Red). Extra clothing is optional
but includes things like sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, T-shirts,
etc..
