IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING OUR INTRAMURAL PROGRAM FOR AGES 5 - 7.
The Wappinger's United Soccer Club are proud to present a unique grass roots developmental soccer program. The program is designed to focus and develop technical skills for the U5-U7 age groups.
WUSC goal is to advance a player's development in the soccer passionate environment. We will focus on a player's technical ability, field awareness, enjoyment of the game, and their passion for the game. By incorporating these aspects in a training environment and through player development, club teams in the future will benefit and become better.
This program will help create a foundation for the player's skills. While they will still get to play in the games, they will be with the ball much more often and become more comfortable and confident with it. They will be encouraged to try new moves and techniques and be positively reinforced to build their esteem and confidence.
The program will be less team oriented and more player development. In fact, they would not be on specific teams at these ages. During their training sessions, the professional coaches will use college and high school players for demonstration purposes. The kids will see higher level players' technical ability and have someone to look up to and emulate. Each week the coaches and the college/high school players will rotate within the grass roots program. It will allow these younger players to get different coaching styles of the same concepts. They will always end with games, but it could be with different players each week. Parent volunteers will also help with the training. They will assist the coaches and have different interaction with the kids.
This program is open to all players U5-U7. It is a unique opportunity to get great coaching and create a foundation of skills and soccer knowledge at such a young age. WUSC invites all players to join in. The program is open to residents of the Town of Wappinger and its neighboring communities.
