Skill evaluations will take place on Sunday, September 18th at the Waunakee High School Fieldhouse. Evaluations for 4th-6th graders will take place from 4:00-5:30 with 7th-8th graders following from 5:30-7:00. A brief mandatory parent meeting will be held at 4:00 and 5:30 for each respective age group.
Travel Teams:
While "Tri County Basketball" is used as an umbrella term, traveling teams are also regularly formed under this umbrella. The high school coaching staff selects traveling teams on a season-by-season basis. Using their discretion, they review participation and talent levels determined during previous Tri County seasons, camps and the preseason evaluation event. Additionally, they take family interest and commitment into account. Traveling teams are not guaranteed at any grade level and they do require additional financial commitment. If the traveling program does not interest your family, you will have an opportunity to opt out of travel team consideration in the registration process.
Coaches:
The success of Waunakee's Tri County Basketball Program relies upon volunteer coaches. To maintain optimal-sized teams, we need many coaches. The high school coaching staff provides training and distributes an instructional DVD. We encourage volunteers to sign up early since teams may only be formed once coaches are in place. To volunteer, create your family account using the name of the person interested in coaching. Then click "Register" next to the coach's name and follow the prompts to register as a coach.
Team Parent:
New this year, the team parent position is evolving and may vary slightly by team. Primarily, it will include equipment distribution/collection for the team and weekly home game score reporting via email or text. The individual will work with the coach to identify other suitable tasks. To volunteer, create your family account and "Register" the individual interested in serving as a Team Parent.
E-Mail:
For dependable communication to your family members throughout the season, this system allows you to register up to three e-mail addresses. Upon creating your new family account, select "Go to your account" and click "edit" next to your name and complete the Optional E-mail fields.
