Our Mission
SportsSignup's mission is to take the hassle out of operating sports organizations large and small. We do this by providing secure, easy-to-use online applications for online registration & fee payment, coach & volunteer background checks, and database-driven member management systems for regional, state, or national organizations. This Software as a Service (SaaS) approach has helped hundreds of sports organizations to transform the way they do business and interact with their members.
Our History
SportsSignup was founded in 2003 by John Haller, co-founder and long-time CTO of MapInfo Corporation (now Pitney Bowes MapInfo) in Troy, NY. In 2002, John's wife Michelle was the registrar for Latham Circle Soccer Club, an 800 member soccer organization in upstate New York. After looking at a stack of hundreds of paper registration forms Michelle was dealing with on the kitchen table, John decided to write a program to "help out" and make the process a bit easier...
Matt Scarchilli, then the president of Latham Circle Soccer Club, was introduced to this new "program" and was immediately convinced that this would change the way sports administrators do their jobs. After a few phone calls to other local sports leagues, Mr. Scarchilli had "sold" the new online registration system to his peers. Soon thereafter, Mr. Scarchilli partnered with Mr. Haller to take the system to market in August 2003. The company was founded under the name League Sports Services LLC, now the parent company of SportsSignup.
Today, SportsSignup has over 750 customers in more than 35 states and Canada, and since inception has processed hundreds of thousands of registrations (both player registrations and background checks) for thousands of sports programs and events. Our customers range in size from a couple of teams to 10's of thousands of players, coaches, and volunteers.
Our Services
SportsSignup's philosophy is to stay current with the
latest industry standard technologies - thereby passing on the safety, security and convenience they provide to our customers. Our services are all web-based, database-focused, and fully customizable by authorized administrators. This type of architecture provides many benefits to smaller
organizations that don't have dedicated systems employees or organizations with more than one person needing access to information from different locations.
All of our services include no-fee, US based support, and when you call us you will talk to a person, not an IVR system. Our support staff works when you do - that means nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to help keep things on track. We utilize the latest CRM and automated systems to securely manage our customer information, our technical knowledge base, and our support infrastructure.

Our management team consists of experienced and successful entrepreneurs and technologists striving to maintain both a fun and efficient work environment. Our "Hassle Free" Business Model
Finally, we understand that many of our customers may not have large information technology budgets, and cannot afford up-front fees or other contractually obligated charges. All of our services are 100% Opt-in, that is, there is never any obligation to continue service if you are not fully satisfied. With our pay-per-use pricing model, there are no up-front financial
commitments or outlays of any kind.
