The Sachem Youth Soccer League is pleased to announce that our 29th Annual Intramural Festival will be held on Saturday June 13th, 2009 at our Waverly Avenue soccer complex in Holtsville, New York.
On behalf of our club, I would like to extend this invitation to teams from your organization to join us for what we believe will be another great weekend of soccer.
Once again, we will be inviting participation by clubs from all over Long Island. Also in an effort to minimize travel for participants, each team will play all of its games on Saturday. All teams will play three games. If divisions are filled, you will be notified to see if you would consider playing up an age group.
As you may know, the goal of our Festival is to give the children an opportunity to compete without the pressure of having to win to receive a trophy. In keeping with this principle,
no scores will be posted during the Festival. All players will receive a trophy and, as is customary, players and coaches will exchange patches after each game. This year, the Sachem Youth Soccer League will have a U-9 Tournament Team division for the stronger U-9 teams looking for higher competition. If you feel your U-9 team would rather play in the new Tournament Team division, please indicate that by selecting the U9-TT age group on the enclosed Intramural Festival application.
The entry fee, per team, for this year’s Festival can be found on our web site at www.sysl.org . Maximum team roster sizes and number of players on the field per age division are also included on the attached rules sheet. In the event of a total cancellation of the festival prorated refunds will be issued. Once accepted into the Festival, there will be no refund of entry fee for withdrawal.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Entry fees will be refunded for teams that are not accepted. You will receive your schedule, rules and answers to any questions you may have about the Festival at the coaches meeting on Tuesday June 9 at 7pm at the Waverly Ave elementary school. Please do not call for schedule information, it will not be given out until the coaches meeting.
Applications should be completed online by May 15 2009 .
