Dear Parents, Coaches and SYSO Football Players:
Welcome to SYSO Boys Football for the Fall 2011 season. We are extremely excited about the upcoming season. Our program has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years with over 200 players participating last year. We are expecting an even larger number of registrations for this season. The program is undergoing a few changes. During the off-season we organized a board of people to help coordinate and enhance the program. Robert Miller has “Retired” as Football commissioner. Thomas Jocelyn will be the commissioner. Many others changes are in the works including special clinics and training for our coaches under the guidance of our High School Varsity Coach Tony DeMatteo.
Our program was developed to provide young athletes with the opportunity to gain an appreciation and understanding of the game of football in a fun and competitive learning environment. Our goal is to help all players improve their football skills, no matter what their ability level, through dedicated coaching and healthy competition. Our focus is on blocking and tackling skills, offensive and defensive drills and playing a challenging game schedule. Younger players learn the fundamentals of the game, while older players experience more advanced skill work.
We stress the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. We expect all of our players, coaches and parents to conduct themselves properly at all times. The SYSO Boys Football Program places an emphasis on teaching our young athletes to respect their teammates, coaches, opponents and officials. These values must be followed ad encouraged by all involved.
Registration will be open for a limited time period so please make every effort to register as soon as possible so proper planning can be made.
Additional emails will be sent but if you have any questions you can email me of call my cell 917-559-1258.
All the best for a great season,
Tom Jocelyn
