A quick note:
Dear Parents, Coaches and SYSO Softball Players,
Welcome to SYSO Softball for the 2009 season. We are extremely excited about the upcoming year. Our program continues to grow and develop. We are expecting a larger number of registrations for this season.
Our SYSO Softball Program’s philosophy for the upcoming season continues to be to provide a fun, worthwhile softball experience for our children. Specifically, we encourage our young players to develop an appreciation and understanding for the game of softball in a fun, and competitive learning environment.
Our core belief is to stress the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. We expect all of our players, coaches, parents and officials to conduct themselves properly at all times in a respectful manner. SYSO Softball places an emphasis on teaching our young players to gain a healthy respect for opponents, coaches and officials. Behavior outside the beliefs of SYSO Softball will not be tolerated. Simply stated, we as parents must set a good example for our children.
Please understand that only in cases of extenuating car pooling circumstances will SYSO softball entertain parent requests for specific team placement. SYSO softball will be providing softball coaches clinics to our coaches during the pre-season. All coaches, and assistant coaches, are encouraged to attend. Those who attend will be given first consideration for head coaching positions.
Lastly, our program will only be as good as the parent volunteers that make up our coaching and administrative staffs. We are all parents in the community and lead hectic lives. The amount of time and energy needed to provide a positive softball experience for our young people in our community is enormous and must be shared by all. SYSO policy states that if there are an insufficient number of volunteer coaches and administrators for a particular league, that league will not play for the 2009 season. Please don’t sit back. Volunteer your time and energy and become a part of your Childs softball adventure. The experience is rewarding and lasts a lifetime!!!! Clinics to be announced.
Thanks for your commitment to our young people. Looking forward to seeing you all out on the field!
Let’s have a great year!
Warm Regards,
Rick Elliott-Commissioner
